The House of Commons, when sitting on a Friday, rises at 3pm with any votes taking place half an hour before, so this time next week, we will have had the Assisted Dying (No. 2) Bill second reading debate and we will know the mind of the House.

Ahead of this debate, Care Not Killing has today written to MPs offering a succinct critique of the Marris Bill and advising against following the Oregon model. We also spoke to them about you, and the many others who have stood with us in opposing uncontrollable, unethical and unnecessary legal change. We asked them to carry your arguments, your concerns and your hopes for real improvement in end of life care with them into the chamber. If you know people who wanted to contact their MP - there is still time. Remember, even if you know your MP is attracted to the Bill, it is important that they hear both sides in this debate.

We continue to be overwhelmed - figuratively and literally - by the feedback we are receiving from you. We know you share our passion for wanting better for people who face the reality of terminal or chronic illnesses and disabilities. We ask that you and like-minded friends join us outside Parliament next Friday, and express your hopes for what good end of life care could, and should, be.

Thank you.
